I think if you can afford to go overboard then go for it. Its magical at that age although storage is also an issue even though its only the 2 of us the house is always jam packed with stuff. I like everything to have a place but I have so much junk and nowere to put it the place is really messy looking.

I like Channies idea of the stockings and for years have been meaning to get round to it but as I cant think what to get hubby this year then im thinking of either getting stockings or I seen nice sacks today in the shopping centre which I thought might be a bit more roomy as was just going to put all his gifts in it so would have room for clothes or whatever.

I was pleased to see the toys I bought for half price are now back up to full price. I have also bought Britney Spears Radiance for £10 half price for a friend. I also got 2 Leighton Denny nail polish sets from TK Maxx so one for my mum and the other was for my xmas but hubby said just to have it now as it wasnt a surprise as I had picked them up so im thinking I will put in in my sack/stocking.

I too am struggling to stop buying things for my son. It is so tempting! Our house is already stuffed full of toys though so my husband attempts to oversee a 'one in, one out' policy!
My nan, my aunt and two of my cousins already have their Christmas trees up! It still seems early to be thinking about Christmas to me.

When do people put up their trees and decorations? We can't buy our tree until Dec 4th and usually I couldn't care less but this year I'm desperate to prettify, although I know it's too early

When we were kids we were never allowed the tree up before my mum's birthday in mid-December. All this putting decs up early seems completely mad to me. I only ever have a tree up (no other decorations) and I am usually itching to take it down again by Boxing Day. Usually last until the day after boxing day then the tree is back in the box in the garage and all the Christmas cards are in the recycling bin!

Growing up, my Mum liked to put the tree up on 14th Dec, as it is my sisters birthday and wanted her to have a nice decorated house.

We get a real tree and get it around 14th, so it lasts until Xmas - although like Joey, I want get rid of everthing Xmas on Boxing Day (my Mum actually does this!!!)

When I was a kid we did the traditional 12 days before and after Christmas, but my son gets so excited about Christmas that last year we put the tree up on December 1st, so I think we are going to do that again this year. If we dont, we'll put them up the 2nd weekend in December. We tend to take the decorations down by the end of December.

I love Christmas, and I have already started watching Christmas movies. We had a very Christmassy day about a week ago, my son was in his Christmas Jumper (insists on wearing it), he was playing with his singing and dancing santa and we were watching Santa Claus the Movie. Lol was a little premature.

We put the tree up early December and thats it til the last night. We cant move for decorations at first it was a novelty as we had nothing so bought 1 decent thing a year to build it up now we are in a guddle. We have massive tree, lots of nice stuff to put on it like decorations with our names etc so I need to put the tree up as people have bought us nice things for it, big Santa claus thats nearly the size of fireplace, a light up wreath, outdoor snowman, candle village with fake snow, xmas ornaments like the snowman, xmas teatowels and hand towels. Last year I bought tiny fibre optic trees for dining room and bedroom and this year im going to get either stockings or sacks lol. Im looking forward to getting a new tree as I will go for a smaller simpler tree but I made such a big fuss about finding the perfect tree im stuck with it for a while yet

I am more or less finished, just to pick up odds and ends now like wine and chocolates. Still to wrap everything though. I got hubby and me sacks this year but I dont have anything to go in mine, next year will pick up stuff cheaply through the year to put in it
